If you are starting from the Polonnaruwa Archaeological Museum, head east on the main road (Gartmore Road) for about 1 kilometer. After you pass the museum, continue straight until you reach the roundabout. Take the first exit at the roundabout onto the road leading towards the ancient city. Continue walking for another 500 meters until you see the entrance to the ancient city on your right. Enter the archaeological site and follow the signs towards Sathmahal Prasadaya, which is located about 300 meters inside the site.

If you have rented a bicycle, start from the Polonnaruwa bus station. Ride east on the main road (Gartmore Road) for about 1.5 kilometers.
