From the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, exit the main entrance and head south on the main road. Continue walking straight for about 3 kilometers, passing by local shops and small eateries. You will reach the junction with the A11 highway. Turn left onto the A11 and continue walking for approximately 2 kilometers. Look for signs pointing towards Polonnaruwa. Once you see the signs, continue straight for another kilometer, and you will arrive at the entrance of Polonnaruwa.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops near the Sigiriya entrance. Start by heading south from the Sigiriya Rock Fortress on the main road for about 3 kilometers. At the junction with the A11 highway, turn left and ride along the A11 for approximately 2 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the signs directing you to Polonnaruwa. Once you spot the signs, continue for an additional kilometer until you reach the entrance to Polonnaruwa.

Tuk-Tuk
Find a Tuk-Tuk near the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Negotiate a fare to Polonnaruwa, which is approximately 15 kilometers away. The driver will take you along the main road south from Sigiriya and then merge onto the A11 highway. You will arrive at the entrance of Polonnaruwa within about 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance.
