Experience Wasgamuwa National Park

Getting There

  • Car

    From the Wilpattu National Park entrance, head southeast towards Puttalam Road (A12). After approximately 30 km, take the left onto the A10 road towards Anuradhapura. Continue for about 50 km until you reach the junction for the Wasgamuwa National Park. Follow the signs directing you to Wasgamuwa National Park, which is located about 15 km from the A10 junction. The entire trip should take roughly 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic.

  • Public Transportation

    From the Wilpattu National Park area, take a bus to Anuradhapura. Buses are frequent and should cost around 100 LKR. Once in Anuradhapura, switch to a bus heading to Nuwaragala. Confirm with the bus driver that they stop near Wasgamuwa National Park, as some may not. The bus ride may take about 1 to 1.5 hours. After arriving at Nuwaragala, you may need to hire a tuk-tuk or local taxi for the remaining 15 km to reach the park entrance. Expect to pay around 500 LKR for the tuk-tuk.
