Ferry
From Ascona, make your way to the Ascona ferry terminal located along the lakeside promenade. The walk is approximately 15 minutes. Head south on Via Borghi until you reach the waterfront, then turn right onto the promenade. Follow the waterfront until you reach the ferry dock. Purchase a ticket for the ferry to Varenna. The ferry ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Varenna ferry terminal, exit the dock and head towards the main road.

Walking
After disembarking from the ferry at Varenna, follow the main road (Via XX Settembre) away from the waterfront. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Contrada della Filanda. Turn left onto Contrada della Filanda and walk straight for about 500 meters. The Church of St. John the Baptist will be on your right, easily recognizable by its beautiful architecture.
