Walking
From the Locarno train station, exit the station and turn left onto Via delle Scuole. Walk straight until you reach the main road, Via San Francesco. Turn right and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Via Cattori. Turn left onto Via Cattori and follow the road until you reach the bus stop 'Locarno, Piazza Grande'. From there, take bus number 2 towards 'Ascona, Posta'. Get off at the stop 'Lugano, Stazione'. From the Lugano train station, walk straight along Via Nassa until you reach the waterfront. Follow the waterfront path until you reach the ferry terminal. Take a ferry to Como. Once you arrive at Como, walk towards the city center. Follow the signs to Piazza del Duomo, and you will find the Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta.

From Locarno, walk to the Locarno train station. Purchase a ticket to Como. Board the train heading towards 'Lugano'. At Lugano, change trains to a train towards 'Milano Centrale'. Get off at Como San Giovanni station. Walk towards Piazza del Duomo by heading north on Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, then take a left onto Via Milano, and finally continue straight until you reach Piazza del Duomo.
