Walking
If you are at the Locarno train station, exit the station and head towards the main road (Via della Stazione). Turn left and walk straight until you reach the intersection with Via C. M. G. C. Cattaneo. Turn right onto Via C. M. G. C. Cattaneo and continue walking. You will pass by several shops and cafes. Keep walking for about 10 minutes until you reach the lakeside promenade (Lungolago). Follow the promenade along Lake Maggiore until you reach the ferry terminal where you can catch a ferry to Varenna.

At the Locarno ferry terminal, purchase a ticket for a ferry to Varenna. Ferries operate regularly, and the journey across Lake Maggiore takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Varenna, you will disembark at the main dock (Molo Riva Grande). From there, you can explore the beautiful waterfront and surrounding area.
