Getting There

• Public Bus

  From the center of Chiang Rai, head to the main bus terminal (Chiang Rai Bus Station). You can take a local bus or songthaew (red truck) that is heading towards the area of Rop Wiang. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off near the King Bhumibol Adulyadej's-Footprint Pavilion. The ride should take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Once you get dropped off, walk towards the signs directing you to the pavilion, which is located at WR65+XFX.

• Bicycle Rental

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in the city center. Start your journey on Phaholyothin Road heading north. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rop Wiang Road. Take a left turn onto Rop Wiang Road and follow the road until you reach the pavilion. The total distance is around 7 kilometers and should take about 30-40 minutes depending on your cycling speed.

• Walking Tour

  For those who enjoy walking, start from the Clock Tower in Chiang Rai, which is a central landmark. Head north on Phaholyothin Road until you reach the intersection with Rop Wiang Road. Turn left onto Rop Wiang Road and continue walking straight. After approximately 7 kilometers, you will find signs leading to King Bhumibol Adulyadej's-Footprint Pavilion. This walk can take around 1.5 to 2 hours, so be prepared with water and comfortable walking shoes.

• Motorcycle Taxi

  If you're looking for a quicker option, you can hire a motorcycle taxi from any major intersection in Chiang Rai. Tell the driver you want to go to King Bhumibol Adulyadej's-Footprint Pavilion. The fare should be around 50-100 Thai Baht, and the ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Make sure to wear a helmet for safety.
