Songthaew
To reach Wat Saeng Kaeo Phothiyan from the center of Chiang Rai, head to the main bus terminal located on Phahonyothin Road. Look for a green songthaew (a shared taxi) that is headed towards Mae Suai District. Confirm with the driver that they are going to the temple or ask them to drop you off at Chedi Luang. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Mae Suai, you can ask locals for directions to the temple, which is about a 10-minute walk from the main road.
