From any location within Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you can rent a car to Lake Mutanda. Navigate to the main road exiting the park, the Rwandan border road (Kabale - Kisoro Road). Drive approximately 20 kilometers towards Kisoro. Follow signs to Lake Mutanda, which will be on your right. The road is well-maintained, but be cautious of wildlife and pedestrians. The drive should take about 30-45 minutes depending on your starting point.

If you prefer using public transport, head to the nearest matatu (shared taxi) station in Kisoro. From there, take a matatu heading towards Kisoro town. Inform the driver you want to stop at Lake Mutanda. The fare is usually around 5,000 UGX ($1.50). The journey takes about 45 minutes. Upon reaching the area, you may need to walk approximately 1 kilometer to the lake, so be prepared with comfortable shoes.
