Getting There

Walking
Start from the center of Ruhengeri at the main bus station. Head south on Avenue de la Revolution for about 1.5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs to Nyabihu or Lake Mutanda. When you reach the intersection with Avenue du Commerce, turn left. Continue walking for another 2 kilometers until you reach the outskirts of Ruhengeri. From there, you can take a local motorcycle taxi (known as 'moto') that can take you closer to Lake Mutanda.

Motorcycle Taxi
Once you get on a moto, tell the driver you want to go to Lake Mutanda Zipline. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. You will pass through beautiful landscapes, including local villages and rice fields. The driver will likely know the area well, but keep an eye on the GPS if you have a smartphone, as it can help ensure you get to the right location.

Hiking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to hike the last stretch, you can ask the moto driver to drop you off at the nearest point to Lake Mutanda. Follow the path leading toward the lake, which is marked by local signs. It's about a 20-minute hike down to the zipline location. Enjoy the stunning views of Lake Mutanda and the surrounding hills as you make your way down.
