Getting There

Car
If you are driving, head towards Nteko Ridge from the main road leading into Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Once you arrive at the park entrance, follow the signs directing you to Nkuringo. The lodge is located approximately 8 km from the main entrance of the park. The road is unpaved and can be steep in some sections, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Expect to spend about 30 minutes driving on this road.

Public Transportation
Take a matatu (shared taxi) from Kabale or Kisoro to Nkuringo. It is advisable to first reach Kisoro town. From Kisoro, board a matatu heading to Nkuringo. This journey will take about 1-1.5 hours depending on road conditions. Once you arrive in Nkuringo, it’s a short walk or a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) ride to Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge. The cost for the matatu is approximately 10,000-15,000 UGX per person, while the boda-boda may cost another 5,000-10,000 UGX.

Boda-Boda
If you are already in Nkuringo village, you can hire a boda-boda to take you directly to Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes and will cost around 5,000-10,000 UGX, depending on your negotiation skills.
