Getting There

Car
If you are driving from the main park entrance of Queen Elizabeth National Park, head south on the main road towards the town of Rubirizi. After approximately 20 km, you will reach the Mbarara - Kasese Road intersection. Turn right onto Mbarara - Kasese Road. Continue driving for about 12 km, and you will find Nkombe Forest Reserve on your left. Look for signs indicating the reserve as you approach.

Public Transportation
From the main park area, take a matatu (shared taxi) or a bus heading towards Rubirizi. These typically leave from the nearest bus station in the park area. The ride should cost around 5,000 UGX and take about 30-45 minutes. Once in Rubirizi, ask the local drivers for a matatu or motorcycle taxi (boda boda) to take you to Nkombe Forest Reserve. The distance is about 12 km, and the cost for the boda boda ride should be around 10,000-15,000 UGX.

Bicycle
For the more adventurous, consider renting a bicycle in the park. Start by cycling south towards Rubirizi on the main road. After about 20 km, at the Mbarara - Kasese Road intersection, turn right. Continue cycling for another 12 km until you reach Nkombe Forest Reserve. Ensure you are prepared for the ride and bring plenty of water.
