If you are traveling by car, start from the main entrance of Rwenzori Mountains National Park. Drive towards Kichwamba and follow the signs for Twin Lakes. The lakes are located approximately 10 kilometers from the main park entrance, and the drive should take about 30 minutes depending on road conditions. Be cautious of any wildlife or pedestrians on the road.

Public Transportation
To reach Twin Lakes using public transportation, first, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Kasese town to Kichwamba. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes and costs approximately 2,000 UGX. Once you reach Kichwamba, you may need to hire a motorcycle taxi (boda-boda) to cover the remaining distance to Twin Lakes, which is about 8 kilometers. The boda-boda ride will cost around 5,000 UGX.

Hiking
For the adventurous, hiking from the main entrance of Rwenzori Mountains National Park to Twin Lakes is an option. Begin your hike early in the morning to allow ample time for the trek. The hike is approximately 10 kilometers and can take around 3-4 hours depending on your fitness level. Make sure to carry enough water, wear proper hiking boots, and follow marked trails.
