Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Fort Portal, head southwest on the A109 road towards Kasese. After approximately 70 km, turn left onto the road signposted for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Continue on this road for about 15 km until you reach the Mweya Peninsula. The Mweya Safari Lodge is located within the park, just a short drive from the entrance. Be aware that there may be an entrance fee to the park, which is approximately $40 for foreign non-residents.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Mweya Safari Lodge using public transport, take a taxi or bus from Fort Portal to Kasese. Once in Kasese, you can hire a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) or a private car to take you to the Mweya Peninsula entrance. The distance from Kasese to the lodge is about 20 km, and the fare for the boda-boda should be around 10,000 UGX. Keep in mind that the boda-boda ride will take you through the park entrance, where you will need to pay the entrance fee (approximately $40 for foreign non-residents).
