Aromi occupies the ground and basement floors of a narrow building at 1 Bene't Street, a 110-metre historic lane in Cambridge's pedestrian core. Large windows reveal the stone pizza oven and dough work from the pavement. The interior is compact, with pale wood tables set close together and simple décor that keeps attention on the food. The site opened in 2013 as the first of a small family-owned group and remains the original location.

From 09:00 visitors order at the counter for pizza by the slice, focaccia, arancini, pastries, coffee and house gelato. Most take away or eat quickly at ground-floor tables. Typical stops last 15–30 minutes. The operation moves at a steady pace even when queues form on the street at weekend lunchtimes.

After 18:00 the same address shifts to sit-down dining. Whole long-fermented sourdough pizzas, Sicilian antipasti, spritz and cocktails are served at tables. This format suits 60–90 minute meals. Bookings are accepted for the evening period, reducing some wait times compared with daytime walk-ins.

The café draws recipes from Caffè Cipriani in Acireale, Sicily, a family business running since 1957. Founders Ofelia and Francesco Genovese opened the Cambridge site after moving to study locally. Bene't Street itself is older, named after the Anglo-Saxon tower of St Bene't's Church (c. 1000–1050), the oldest standing building in Cambridgeshire. Neighbouring landmarks include Corpus Christi College and The Eagle pub.

The venue is almost entirely indoor with no dedicated outdoor seating. Toilets are located downstairs. Card payment, Wi-Fi and high chairs are available. Vegetarian and several vegan options are offered; gluten-free pizza carries a surcharge. The site suits brief refuelling stops during college tours or a straightforward evening meal. Peak crowding occurs at weekend lunchtimes, summer tourist periods and university term middays.
