From Down, take the A1 road heading southeast towards Edinburgh. Continue on the A1 until you reach the A720 ring road. Follow signs for the A7 towards Edinburgh city center. Once in the city, follow signs for Cowgate. You can park at one of the nearby car parks, such as the NCP Car Park on St John’s Road. From the car park, it is a short 10-minute walk to Greyfriars Kirkyard, located at 26A Candlemaker Row.

You can catch a bus from Down to Edinburgh city center. Look for service numbers that head towards Edinburgh, such as the 15 or 30 which run frequently. The journey will take approximately 1-1.5 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the city center, disembark at the 'Cowgate' stop. From there, it is a 5-minute walk to Greyfriars Kirkyard along Candlemaker Row.

Take a train from Down to Edinburgh Waverley station. Trains run regularly, and the journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Waverley, exit the station and head towards the Royal Mile. Walk down the Royal Mile until you reach the Cowgate, then turn left onto Candlemaker Row. Greyfriars Kirkyard will be on your right.
