Getting There

  • Bus

    From the city center, head to the nearest bus stop that services Lothian Buses. Take bus number 3, 27, or 34 from either South St David St or Waverley Bridge. Make sure to check the direction towards 'Balerno' or 'Sighthill'. The journey takes approximately 25-30 minutes. Disembark at the 'Water of Leith Visitor Centre' stop. From the bus stop, walk along the path for a short distance, and you will arrive at the Water of Leith Visitor Centre and Cafe located at 24 Lanark Rd.

    If you are near the city center, you can enjoy a scenic walk to the Water of Leith Visitor Centre. Start at the Scottish National Gallery on the Mound. Head down the Mound towards Princes Street. From Princes Street, take the path that leads you to the West Princes Street Gardens. Walk along the path on the west side of the gardens until you reach the Water of Leith Walkway. Follow the walkway north, which eventually leads you to Lanark Rd. Continue on Lanark Rd, and look for the Visitor Centre, which is approximately 1.5 miles from the gardens.

    Take the Edinburgh Tram from the city center towards 'York Place'. Get off at 'Haymarket' station. From Haymarket, transfer to bus number 34 heading towards 'Sighthill'. Alight at the 'Water of Leith Visitor Centre' stop. The Visitor Centre will be a short walk from the bus stop, located at 24 Lanark Rd.
