Walking
From the center of New Town, head southwest towards St. Andrew Square. Walk towards the west on George Street until you reach the junction at Frederick Street. Turn left onto Frederick Street and continue until you reach the top of the hill. Follow the road as it curves right onto the Mound, which will lead you directly towards the Royal Palace. The palace is located on Castlehill, just a short walk from the Mound. You will see the castle ahead.
