Walk along Duncombe Place until you reach the end, where it meets High Ousegate. Turn right and walk towards the River Ouse. You will see the entrance to the York City Walls a short distance ahead on your left.

    From the York Train Station, exit onto Station Road. Turn left and walk towards the city center. As you reach the junction with Blossom Street, continue straight onto Micklegate. Follow Micklegate until you reach the city walls. The entrance to the York City Walls will be visible as you approach the walls.

    If you are near the city center, you can catch a bus from the main bus station on Rougier Street. Look for a bus heading towards 'York City Centre'. The bus will drop you off close to the walls. Get off at the stop 'Museum Gardens', then walk towards the river, and you will see the entrance to the City Walls nearby.

    Starting from the Shambles, walk north along the Shambles until you reach the junction with St. Sampson's Square. Continue straight onto St. Sampson's Square, then head towards the large stone gates of the city walls, which will be on your right. You can enter the walls from this point.
