Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from Moab, Utah. Head south on US-191 for approximately 11 miles until you reach the junction for Canyonlands National Park. Turn left onto UT-313 east. Continue on UT-313 for about 22 miles until you reach the Island in the Sky entrance of Canyonlands National Park. There is an entrance fee of $30 per vehicle, valid for 7 days. After entering the park, follow the main road until you reach the Grand View Point Overlook. From there, continue on the same road for another 6 miles, then turn left onto the road for Candlestick Tower Overlook. Follow the signs for about 1.5 miles to the overlook parking area.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you can take a shuttle from Moab to Canyonlands National Park. Several companies offer shuttle services that can take you to the Island in the Sky entrance. Once you arrive at the entrance, check with the shuttle driver or park staff for options to get to the Candlestick Tower Overlook. It’s advisable to book your shuttle in advance, and costs can vary, usually ranging from $30 to $50 per person for a round trip.

• Hiking

  For those who enjoy hiking, you can reach Candlestick Tower Overlook by hiking from the nearby trails. From the Grand View Point Overlook, there are several trailheads leading into the area. Be prepared for a strenuous hike, and ensure you have good navigation tools, as trails may not always be well-marked. Always carry enough water and snacks, and check the weather beforehand.
