Getting There

Walking
From the entrance of the Vatican Museums, exit the main building and head towards the main road, Viale Vaticano. Turn right and walk straight until you reach Piazza San Pietro (St. Peter's Square). From there, you will need to walk through the square and exit from the opposite side, heading towards Via della Conciliazione. Continue walking down Via della Conciliazione, and keep walking straight until you reach the intersection with Via dei Fori Imperiali. Turn left onto Via dei Fori Imperiali and continue until you see the Colosseum on your right side at Piazza del Colosseo.

Public Transportation
From the Vatican Museums, exit and walk to the nearest bus stop, located on Viale Vaticano. Take Bus number 81 or 492 towards the direction of 'Termini'. Ride for about 10 minutes and get off at the stop 'Piazza Venezia'. From Piazza Venezia, walk down Via dei Fori Imperiali for about 10 minutes, and the Colosseum will be on your right side when you reach Piazza del Colosseo.

If you prefer a quicker option, you can take a taxi from the Vatican Museums. Simply exit the Museums and look for a taxi stand nearby or use a taxi app. Inform the driver to take you to 'Piazza del Colosseo'. The journey should take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.
