Walking
From the main exit of the Vatican Museums, head towards the entrance of St. Peter's Basilica. Once you are outside, turn left and walk straight down Via della Conciliazione. Continue walking until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the river using the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge. After crossing, you will be in the historic district of Rome. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Via del Corso. Turn right onto Via del Corso and continue straight until you reach Piazza Venezia. The square is well marked and you will see the impressive Altare della Patria (Altar of the Fatherland) in the center.
Public Transport
From the Vatican Museums, walk to the nearest Metro station, Ottaviano (Line A). Take the Metro towards Anagnina and get off at the next stop, Lepanto. Transfer to Line B at Termini Station and take the Metro towards Laurentina. Get off at the stop for Colosseo. From there, you can either walk to Piazza Venezia, which will take about 15 minutes, or catch a bus that will take you directly to Piazza Venezia. If walking, exit the Colosseo station, head towards Via dei Fori Imperiali, and continue straight until you reach Piazza Venezia.
Bus
After exiting the Vatican Museums, walk to the nearest bus stop located at Via della Conciliazione. Take bus number 40 or 64, both of which go towards Termini Station. Get off at the stop called 'Piazza Venezia'. The bus ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you disembark, you will find yourself directly at Piazza Venezia, where you can explore the surrounding attractions.
