Walking
If you are at the Vatican Necropolis, start by heading north towards the entrance of St. Peter's Basilica. Once you reach the main square, exit through the colonnade and head towards the Via della Conciliazione. Continue walking straight until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the river via the Ponte Sant'Angelo. After crossing, turn left and continue along the riverbank until you reach the bridge Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II. Cross this bridge and proceed straight to Via dei Gracchi. Turn right onto Via dei Gracchi and continue walking until you reach Piazza Cavour. From there, head towards the Via del Corso and turn left until you reach Piazza Venezia. Finally, walk along Via Merulana until you arrive at Piazza di Porta Maggiore.
Public Transport - Bus
From Vatican Necropolis, walk to the nearest bus station, which is located at the entrance of St. Peter's Basilica. Take bus number 23 in the direction of 'Piazza di Porta Maggiore'. The bus will take you directly to your destination. Stay alert for stops, and disembark at 'Piazza di Porta Maggiore'.
Public Transport - Tram
From Vatican Necropolis, proceed to the nearest tram stop at 'Piazza del Risorgimento'. Board tram number 19 in the direction of 'P.le Flaminio'. After a few stops, transfer at 'Piazza di Porta Maggiore'. The tram will take you directly to your destination.
