Walking
From the entrance of the Vatican Necropolis, head south towards the main exit. Once you exit, turn left onto Via di Porta Angelica. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Via della Conciliazione. Cross the street and head towards the Tiber River. You will see the Ponte Sant'Angelo (Angel Bridge) ahead of you. Cross the bridge and continue straight on Corso Vittorio Emanuele II until you reach the intersection with Via del Corso. Turn left onto Via del Corso and walk until you reach the bus stop 'Corso/Vittorio Emanuele'. Take bus 446 towards 'Tivoli' and ride it until you reach 'Tivoli' station. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk to Villa d'Este.

From Vatican Necropolis, walk to the nearest metro station, Ottaviano. Take Line A towards Anagnina and get off at Termini station. At Termini, transfer to Line B towards Rebibbia and get off at the 'Tiburtina' station. From Tiburtina, take the regional train to 'Tivoli'. After arriving at Tivoli, exit the train station and walk towards the center. Follow the signs to Villa d'Este, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the station.
