Getting There

    Start by getting onto US-97 from anywhere in The Columbia Basin. If you're in the Tri-Cities area, take I-182 W. Follow I-82 N and then merge onto US-97 N. Continue on US-97 N for about 60 miles until you reach Goldendale, WA. In Goldendale, turn left onto WA-142 W for approximately 20 miles until you reach the junction with WA-141. Turn left onto WA-141 S. Continue on WA-141 S for about 17 miles until you reach the junction with Forest Road 60. Turn left onto Forest Road 60, which will take you directly to the entrance of Indian Heaven Wilderness. Note that some sections of the road may not be paved and might require a high-clearance vehicle.

    If you are using public transportation, your first step is to take a bus from The Columbia Basin to Goldendale, WA. Check with local transit authorities for schedules, as services may vary.
