Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park Visitor Center located at 171 Shoreline Drive, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425. From the Visitor Center, head northeast on Shoreline Drive toward 340. Turn left onto US-340 N. Continue for about 1.5 miles. Take the exit toward Millville Rd/Route 67. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Millville Rd. After approximately 1.5 miles, you will reach Schoolhouse Ridge South, located at 2083 Millville Rd, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425. There is parking available on-site.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, take the MARC Train (Maryland Area Rail Commuter) to the Harpers Ferry station. From the train station, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service (such as Uber or Lyft) to reach Schoolhouse Ridge South, as public transportation options may be limited in this area. The distance from the train station to Schoolhouse Ridge South is approximately 2 miles. Expect taxi fares to be around $10-$15.

• Walking/Biking

  If you are already in Harpers Ferry National Historical Park and prefer to walk or bike, you can use the park's trail system. From the Visitor Center, follow the trails leading towards the Millville Road area. Keep an eye for signs indicating the path to Schoolhouse Ridge South. It is a scenic route, but be aware that the distance is about 2.5 miles one way, and it may take approximately 1 hour to walk or 15-20 minutes to bike.
