If you are traveling by car, start from the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park Visitor Center located at 171 Shoreline Drive, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425. Head southeast on Shoreline Drive and turn left onto US-340 S. Continue on US-340 S for about 2 miles. Take the exit toward Harpers Ferry and merge onto Washington Street. Follow Washington Street until it turns into High Street. Continue on High Street for about 1 mile until you reach the Shenandoah Canal. There is no specific parking at the canal, but you can find nearby parking areas along the road.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take the MARC Train from Washington, D.C. to Harpers Ferry. The train departs from Union Station and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the Harpers Ferry train station, exit the station and walk towards Washington Street. From there, follow Washington Street until it turns into High Street. The Shenandoah Canal is approximately a 20-minute walk from the train station. Make sure to check the MARC Train schedule for the latest departure times.

For those who prefer a more active option, consider biking from the Harpers Ferry Visitor Center. Rent a bike from a local shop in town if you do not have your own.
