Walking
The final approach to Plateau Point is achieved by hiking the Bright Angel Trail from the South Rim. From Grand Canyon Village, follow signs to the Bright Angel Trailhead, located near the Kolb Studio. Descend approximately 4.5 miles (7.2 km) to Indian Garden. From Indian Garden, take the Plateau Point Trail, which is 1.5 miles (2.4 km) to the overlook. Note that this is a strenuous hike, and it is essential to be prepared with plenty of water and appropriate gear. There are no costs associated with hiking the trail itself, but there is a $35 entrance fee per vehicle to enter Grand Canyon National Park, valid for 7 days.

Shuttle Bus
From the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, take the free Village (Blue) Route shuttle to the Bright Angel Lodge. From there, walk a short distance to the Bright Angel Trailhead and begin the hike to Plateau Point. The shuttle is free, but the hike to Plateau Point is approximately 12 miles round trip and very strenuous. Remember to bring plenty of water and supplies. The park entrance fee of $35 per vehicle is still applicable.
