Car
From Hobart, take the Tasman Highway (A3) heading northeast. Continue on A3 for about 80 kilometers until you reach Sorell. From Sorell, follow the signs to Triabunna. This drive will take approximately 1.5 hours. Once in Triabunna, follow the signs to the Maria Island ferry terminal. The ferry operates regularly, and you will need to purchase a ticket, which typically costs around AUD 45 for adults and AUD 25 for children (return trip). The ferry ride takes approximately 30 minutes to reach Maria Island.

If you prefer to take public transport, you can catch a bus from Hobart to Sorell. The bus service operated by Metro Tasmania provides connections to Sorell. Once you arrive in Sorell, transfer to a local taxi or rideshare service to get to Triabunna. After reaching Triabunna, head to the Maria Island ferry terminal.
