Car
If you are driving, head to Triabunna, which is the nearest town to Maria Island. From Hobart, take the A3 highway towards Sorell, then continue on the A3 to Triabunna. The drive takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once in Triabunna, you will need to park your car near the ferry terminal. Parking is available, but be sure to check if there are any fees associated with it.

Ferry
From the Triabunna ferry terminal, board the Maria Island ferry operated by Maria Island Walk. The ferry ride takes about 30 minutes. Be sure to check the ferry schedule ahead of time as departures may vary. Tickets for the ferry can be purchased on-site or online, and prices are around AUD 45 for adults and AUD 20 for children, return.

Walking
Upon arriving at Maria Island, follow the signs to Painted Cliffs. The walk from the ferry drop-off point to Painted Cliffs is approximately 4 km one way and should take around 1 hour each way. The trail is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the coastline, so wear comfortable walking shoes and be prepared for some uneven terrain.
