From the center of Hallstatt, head towards the Hallstatt train station. This will take about 15 minutes on foot, and you can follow the signs leading to the train station or ask locals for directions. Once at the station, you will find the bus stop for the Dachstein area right outside.

At the Hallstatt train station, take the bus towards 'Dachstein' or 'Gosau'. Make sure to check the bus schedules ahead of time as they can vary. The bus ride will take around 30 minutes, and you will enjoy scenic views along the way. Get off at the 'Dachstein Glacier' stop, which is the closest point to Hoher Dachstein.
