Getting There

Walking
From the Hallstatt train station, exit the building and walk straight down the main road (B166) towards the lake. Continue walking for about 10 minutes until you reach the waterfront. Once you reach the water, turn left and follow the lakeside path. You will see beautiful views of the lake and mountains. After about 5 minutes, you will see a sign pointing towards Marktplatz. Follow the signs as you walk up into the village. The path will lead you through charming streets and eventually to Marktplatz, the main square.

If you are starting from the Hallstatt Museum, exit the museum and head down the street towards the lake. Once you reach the waterfront, turn right and walk along the lakeside path. Continue for about 5-10 minutes until you see signs for Marktplatz. Follow the signs up into the village, and you’ll arrive at Marktplatz, where you can enjoy the local shops and cafes.
