Walking
From the Hallstatt train station, exit the station and walk downhill toward the lake. Follow the path along the lakefront until you reach the main road, which is called Seestraße. Continue walking along Seestraße for about 10 minutes, enjoying the scenic views of the lake and mountains. When you reach the end of Seestraße, you will see a sign pointing towards Marktplatz. Turn left onto Marktplatzstraße and walk straight until you arrive at Marktplatz Hallstatt, which is a vibrant square with shops and restaurants.

Walking
If you are starting from the Salt Mine cable car station, exit the station and head down the pathway toward the village. Follow the signs that lead you down the hill towards Hallstatt village. Once you reach the village, continue straight until you hit the waterfront. From there, turn right and walk along the Seestraße, following it for about 5 minutes until you reach Marktplatz Hallstatt.

If you are in the center of Hallstatt, such as near the Church of St. Michael, head towards the lake and walk down the hill. Follow the path leading to the lakefront and turn left onto Seestraße. Continue walking along the waterfront for approximately 5 minutes. You will soon see the signs for Marktplatz. Continue walking straight until you arrive at Marktplatz Hallstatt, where you can find various attractions and cafes.
