To reach Walcheralm via public transport, take bus line 960 from Schladming to Ramsau am Dachstein, Schildlehen. The bus stop, 'Ramsau Schildlehen Dachsteinstraße', is a short walk from Walcheralm. Check the local bus schedule for current fares and times. From Schladming Bahnhof (train station), the bus ride to Dachstein Türlwandhütte takes about 40 minutes. A one-way bus ticket costs approximately $7. From the bus stop, follow Schildlehen road to Walcheralm.
Driving

If arriving by car from Schladming, head south on the B320 towards Pichl. After approximately 7 km, take the exit for Schildlehen. Follow the signs to Schildlehen and continue on Schildlehen road for about 1.5 km until you reach Walcheralm at Schildlehen 40. Parking is available near the inn, with potential fees, so have change ready. Note that the Dachsteinstraße leading to the area may be subject to tolls depending on the specific route taken. Parking spaces are also available about 4km after the toll station.
Hiking

For adventurous travelers, a rewarding hike to Walcheralm is possible from Schladming. Take the trail from the center of Schladming heading toward the Planai mountain area. The hike takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, covering around 5 km. Follow the marked hiking trails, ensuring you have a map or a hiking app to guide you.
