Lake Rwihinda, or Lac Rwihinda, is a true natural gem located in the northern Kirundo Province of Burundi, near the Rwandan border. Often called 'Bird Lake' (Lac aux Oiseaux), this picturesque lake is a haven for diverse bird species, making it a prime destination for birdwatchers and eco-tourists. The lake itself covers approximately 425 hectares and is part of the larger Rwihinda Nature Reserve, which spans over 8,000 hectares, encompassing a variety of habitats including forests, shrublands, and wetlands.
