Getting There

  • Car

    From Joshua Tree National Park, head east on CA-62 E for approximately 20 miles until you reach Twentynine Palms. After entering Twentynine Palms, turn left onto Utah Trail (CA-62 E) and continue for about 2 miles. Turn right onto Amboy Road and drive for about 10 miles. Look for the Sheephole Valley Wilderness sign on the right side of the road. You can park at designated areas along Amboy Road to access the wilderness area.

    Take public transport to Twentynine Palms via the Morongo Basin Transit Authority (MBTA) from Joshua Tree.
