Start your journey from the Joshua Tree National Park Visitor Center located at 6554 Park Blvd, Joshua Tree, CA 92252. From the Visitor Center, head northeast on Park Blvd and turn left onto CA-62 E. Continue on CA-62 E for approximately 12 miles. Merge onto 29 Palms Hwy/CA-62 E and continue for another 5 miles. Look for the turnoff to Utah Trail Road and turn right. Follow Utah Trail Road until it intersects with Sheephole Valley Wilderness. Note that there are no services once you leave the main highway, so ensure your vehicle is fueled and equipped for the desert terrain.
