If you are driving from the main areas of Lake Tahoe, head towards US-50. Depending on your starting point, you may need to follow local roads to reach US-50. For example, if you are in South Lake Tahoe, take Lake Tahoe Blvd (CA-89) north until you reach US-50. Turn east onto US-50 and drive for approximately 5 miles. The Site of Echo Summit will be on your right side at 21200 US-50. Look for the historical marker along the roadside.

To reach the Site of Echo Summit using public transportation, take the BlueGO bus service that operates in and around South Lake Tahoe. Board the bus at one of the main stops in South Lake Tahoe (e.g., Stateline or Heavenly Village). You will need to transfer to the Route 50 bus heading towards Meyers. The bus may not stop exactly at the Site of Echo Summit, so be sure to check the stops in advance and plan to get off at the closest stop, which is typically near US-50. Be prepared for a short walk back towards the landmark, which is located at 21200 US-50.
