Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start by getting onto US-50 E from your current location in Sierra Nevada. Follow US-50 E for approximately 30 miles, passing through South Lake Tahoe. Once you reach South Lake Tahoe, take the exit toward CA-89 S. Continue on CA-89 S for about 1.5 miles until you reach Glen Alpine Road. Turn right onto Glen Alpine Road. The Historical Preservation of Glen Alpine Springs will be located on your left at 2001 Glen Alpine Rd, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. There is no cost for parking along the road, but be sure to check for any posted signs.

• Public Transportation

  If you're using public transportation, start by taking a bus from your location to the South Lake Tahoe area. You can use the Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) services, which operate several routes in the region. Look for the bus that goes to the South Lake Tahoe Transit Center. From the Transit Center, you can catch the Route 50 bus towards Heavenly Village. You will need to get off at the nearest stop and walk to Glen Alpine Road. It’s a short walk of about 0.5 miles to the Historical Preservation of Glen Alpine Springs. Be sure to check the TTD website for the latest schedules and any applicable fare costs.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer biking, you can ride from South Lake Tahoe. Start at the South Lake Tahoe bike path. Follow the path towards the direction of the Heavenly Ski Resort, and then connect to Glen Alpine Road. The ride is approximately 3 miles from the heart of South Lake Tahoe, and it will take you directly to the Historical Preservation of Glen Alpine Springs. Ensure to wear a helmet and follow all local biking regulations.
