Getting There

Walking
From the heart of Chinatown, head west on Grant Avenue towards California Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with California Street. Turn right onto California Street and walk uphill for about 3 blocks until you reach the intersection with Mason Street. Turn left onto Mason Street and continue walking for one block. Joice Street will be on your right. The Joice Street Steps start at the corner, and you will see the staircase leading up.

Public Transportation (Bus)
If you're near the Dragon's Gate at the entrance of Chinatown, you can catch the Muni Bus 30 or 45 at the bus stop on Grant Avenue. Board the bus heading towards the Bayview/Hunters Point for Bus 30 or to the Marin City for Bus 45. Get off at the stop at California Street and Mason Street. From this stop, walk one block down Mason Street and turn right onto Joice Street where you'll find the Joice Street Steps.
