Getting There

    From Yosemite Village, start by heading towards the Yosemite Valley Visitor Center. Look for signs that indicate the trailhead for the Mist Trail. Take the Mist Trail and follow the path as it ascends towards Vernal Fall. Continue on the trail until you reach the junction where you will see signs for the John Muir Trail. Follow the John Muir Trail which will eventually lead you towards Tuolumne Meadows. This is a long hike, approximately 28 miles, so plan accordingly with plenty of water and snacks.

    From Yosemite Village, head to the Yosemite Valley Shuttle stop. Take the shuttle towards Tuolumne Meadows. Make sure to check the shuttle schedule as it runs only at certain times. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at the Tuolumne Meadows stop, follow the signs to Olmsted Point, which is about a 1-mile walk from the shuttle drop-off point. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!

  • Biking

    If you have access to a bike, you can bike from Yosemite Village to Tuolumne Meadows. Start by taking the road towards Glacier Point, then follow the signs leading to Tioga Road (Highway 120). This will be a strenuous ride, approximately 40 miles, so ensure you have a good bike and supplies. Once you reach Tuolumne Meadows, follow the signs to Olmsted Point which is a short walk from the main road.
