Walking
From Yosemite Village, start at the Yosemite Visitor Center. Head east on Village Drive towards the Ansel Adams Gallery. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Southside Drive. Turn left onto Southside Drive and follow the signs for the Mist Trail. After about 0.5 miles, you will see the entrance to the Mist Trail on your left. Follow this trail which will lead you towards Vernal Falls. The trail is steep and can be challenging, so take your time. After a 1.5-mile hike, you will arrive at Vernal Falls. Shuttle
While walking is a great way to enjoy Yosemite, you can also take the free shuttle service available in the park. Start at the Yosemite Village shuttle stop and board the shuttle heading towards the Mist Trail. The shuttle runs frequently, so you won’t have to wait long. Get off at the stop designated for the Mist Trail, and from there, follow the trail signs leading to Vernal Falls, which is about 1.5 miles up the Mist Trail. Be sure to check the shuttle schedule for the latest timings.
