Car
If you are driving, start from the Grand Lake entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. Enter the park and follow the signs for the Trail Ridge Road. After approximately 2.5 miles, you will see a sign for the Holzwarth Historic Site. Turn left onto the dirt road leading to the site. The site is about 1 mile down this road. Note that this road may be unpaved and can be rough in some conditions, so drive carefully.

If you are using public transportation, take the bus from Estes Park to Grand Lake. Once you arrive in Grand Lake, you can either walk or take a taxi to the Holzwarth Historic Site. The site is located about 5 miles from Grand Lake. Walking will take approximately 1.5 hours, so consider using a taxi for convenience. Be aware that public transportation schedules may vary seasonally.
