Train
From Stamford, head to the Stamford Transportation Center. Take the Metro-North train towards Grand Central Terminal. The train ride will take approximately 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Grand Central, transfer to the 7 train towards Flushing - Main St. Get off at Times Square-42nd St station. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to Gershwin Theatre. Exit the station and head west on W 42nd St towards 8th Ave. Turn left on 8th Ave and continue walking until you reach W 51st St. Turn right, and the theatre will be on your left at 222 W 51st St.
Bus
Head to the Stamford Bus Terminal. Take the Greyhound or Peter Pan bus to New York City. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, exit the terminal and walk to 8th Ave. From there, take the A, C, or E subway train at 42nd St-Port Authority Bus Terminal towards World Trade Center. Get off at 42nd St-Times Square. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to Gershwin Theatre. Head west on W 42nd St towards 8th Ave, turn left on 8th Ave, and then turn right on W 51st St. The theatre is at 222 W 51st St.

If you are staying at a hotel or are in the downtown area of Stamford, you can also explore the local area on foot. Depending on your location, you can walk to the Stamford Transportation Center and take the Metro-North train as described above. Alternatively, if you are in the city center, take a stroll down the streets to enjoy local shops and cafes before heading to the train station.
