The most direct way to approach Palisades Interstate Park is via the Palisades Interstate Parkway. From the north or south, follow the Parkway to the exit closest to your desired destination within the park (e.g., State Line Lookout, Alpine Picnic Area). Be aware that parking fees are in effect at most locations within the park. First hour is free at State Line Lookout, but visitors must enter their license plate into the pay station. Parking fees are NOT transferable from one park area to another. Limited parking is available, and lots often fill early on weekends.
