    Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge is located approximately 88 km (54 miles) southeast of San José. From San José, take the Pan-American Highway (Route 2) towards Cerro de la Muerte. The drive takes about 3-4 hours, and a 4x4 vehicle is recommended, especially during the rainy season. Free parking is available at the lodge.

    Alternatively, take a public bus from San José to San Isidro de El General, then a 4x4 taxi to San Gerardo de Dota. The bus departs from Terminal Musoc in San José. Surrounded by a private cloud forest reserve, Dantica offers opportunities for birdwatching, hiking, and exploring the unique ecosystem. The lodge is located within the Los Santos Forest Reserve and near Los Quetzales National Park, making it an ideal base for nature lovers. Guests can enjoy well-maintained trails, observe diverse bird species (including the resplendent quetzal), and immerse themselves in the tranquility of the cloud forest.
