If you're driving from the nearest city, Manta, take the E15 highway heading southwest. Continue for approximately 70 km until you see signs for Puerto Cayo. Turn onto the road towards Puerto Cayo and follow the signs for Cerro el Morro. The last stretch will take you through local roads that may not be paved, so proceed with caution. Park your car at the designated parking area near the base of the hill.

From Manta, you can take a bus to Puerto Cayo. Buses leave regularly from the main terminal in Manta. The journey takes about 1.5 hours and costs approximately $1.50. Once you arrive in Puerto Cayo, you can either walk (about 30 minutes) or take a local taxi (which may cost around $3) to reach the base of Cerro el Morro.
