Start your journey from Mindo Cloud Forest by heading southeast on the E28 highway. Continue for about 20 kilometers until you reach the junction with the E20 highway. Turn left onto E20 and follow it for approximately 40 kilometers. You will pass through the towns of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. Keep an eye out for signs to Parque Nacional Cotopaxi as you approach. The entrance to the park is located about 10 kilometers off the E20 highway. Please note that there may be a small entrance fee to access the park, which is typically around $5 per person.

From Mindo Cloud Forest, take a bus to Quito from the local bus terminal. The bus ride will take approximately 2 hours. Once in Quito, transfer to a bus heading to Latacunga. This leg of the journey usually takes about 2 hours as well. In Latacunga, look for a bus heading to Parque Nacional Cotopaxi or to the nearby town of Ambato. This final bus ride should take around 30-45 minutes. Be aware that you may need to pay a small fee for each bus ride, which can range from $2 to $5 per trip. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance to minimize waiting time.
