Getting There

Car
Salla Wilderness Park is located near the Sallatunturi ski resort. From the center of Salla village, drive approximately 10 km towards Sallatunturi on Hautajärventie (road 82). The park is well-signposted. Parking is available at the park, but may be limited due to construction during the summer of 2025. Parking is free.

Bus
Take a bus from Kemijärvi Railway Station or Rovaniemi Airport to Salla. From Salla village, you can take the Salla Municipality Shop Ride to Sallatunturi, which stops at Salla Wilderness Park. The service runs on Mondays and Thursdays. Pre-booking is required by calling +358 40 739 4730 before 6 PM the previous evening. A single ticket costs approximately €5.

Walking
From Sallatunturi ski resort, there are multiple trails leading to Salla Wilderness Park. The walk is approximately 1.6 km and takes about 20-30 minutes. Follow the signs for Salla Wilderness Park or Salla National Park Visitor Centre. Be aware of construction near the Visitor Centre during the summer of 2025, which may affect the initial sections of the trails.
