  Start your journey from the Avignon city center, specifically from the Place de l'Horloge, which is a central and well-known location. From the Place de l'Horloge, walk towards the Palais des Papes. Continue straight until you reach the Rhône River. Upon reaching the river, head towards the Pont Saint-Bénézet (the famous Avignon bridge). Cross the bridge, and once you reach the other side, you will find signs pointing to île de la Barthelasse. Follow these signs, which will lead you to the island. The walk offers beautiful views of the river and the city.

  If you're up for a more active way to visit île de la Barthelasse, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Avignon. Starting from the Place de l'Horloge, cycle towards the Palais des Papes and then continue to the Rhône River. Once you reach the river, follow the riverside path along the riverbank heading towards the Pont Saint-Bénézet. After crossing the bridge, you will find dedicated bike paths that will take you directly to île de la Barthelasse. It’s a scenic ride that allows you to enjoy the fresh air and picturesque views.

  To reach île de la Barthelasse using public transport, start at the Avignon central bus station, located near the Place de l'Horloge. Take bus line 5 towards 'Les Angles'. The bus will make stops along the way, and you need to get off at the stop called 'Barthelasse'. From there, you can walk to the île de la Barthelasse. The entire journey will provide you with a glimpse of the local surroundings and is a convenient option if you prefer not to walk or cycle.
